Hi, I'm Hamish Wells. I'm an actor, storyteller, and all-around creative from Toowoomba, Queensland. I've got a passion for both the stage and screen, and when I'm not acting, you might find me behind the scenes working on creative projects, or enjoying a good tv show or video game.
I'm a 2023 graduate of the diploma of Musical Theatre at NIDA, where I received training in a wide range of acting techniques including classical and contemporary theatre, screen acting, voice work, stage combat, movement, and dialects. Learning under the industry's leading professionals, I'm always striving to expand my skill set and push my limits, bringing something new to every role I take on.
My theatre credits include Tick, Tick... Boom!, She Loves Me, Georgy Girl, The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui and The Wedding Singer, where I've had the chance to tackle diverse roles, from intense dramas to lighter, comedic characters. On the screen, I've appeared in Don't Tell as well as the short film Ehh.. I'll Watch, and I'm always excited by the opportunity to collaborate with talented directors, writers, and actors in creating compelling narratives.
When I'm not performing, I enjoy playing a variety of musical instruments and listening and learning all styles of music . Whether it's on stage or in front of the camera, I'm always focused on giving an honest, grounded performance, and bringing authenticity to every project.

STAGE CREDITS
Hamish’s stage credits and career highlights include his most notable role of Donkey ... in Toowoomba’s pro-am production of Shrek the Musical where at the young age of 15, he was described by several reviews of the show as “a highlight of the production” (The Chronicle 2018). But his first professional musical role was in 2015 in Cameron Macintosh’s Mary Poppins at the Empire Theatre. Hamish’s career followed with lead and minor roles in Pirates of Penzance, Oliver Twist, Kinky Boots, The Wedding Singer, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty Ballet, The Jungle book and up until 2022 in his most recent production of Legally Blonde the Musical in Brisbane.
EDUCATION
Hamish is currently a student in 2023, studying at the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA),... where he will be attaining a Diploma of Musical Theatre and be trained under critically acclaimed and award winning Australian performer Philip Quast. He is currently based in Sydney, Australia and is privileged to work with individuals who share his passion and love for Performing Arts.
DANCE
As a dancer his journey started at the age of three at his dance school in Toowoomba, training... in jazz, tap, Ballet and contemporary. Whilst at the dance school, Hamish was a member of an auditioned, reputable dance troupe who competed and placed in several state level competitions around Queensland.
PERSONA
Hamish’s passion for the arts can also be seen offstage with his huge personality and... outgoing and comedic outlook on every aspect of his life and loves nothing more than to share his passion, personality and sense of humour with everyone around him.
